Mukesh Gandhi Charged with Domestic Violence After Accident in Spartanburg

Man arrested for assaulting wife at crash scene, wife charged with DUI

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — Mukesh Gandhi, 68, was arrested on Saturday, after allegedly assaulting his wife, Minaxi Gandhi, at the scene of a car accident in Spartanburg County.

According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash at the intersection of Warren H Abernathy Highway and Saluda Street around 4 p.m. The woman involved in the crash, Minaxi Gandhi, reported that her husband, Mukesh, arrived at the scene and punched her. She also told deputies that Mukesh slapped her while checking on her.

Mukesh initially denied any assault, but later admitted to “pushing” Minaxi’s face. As a result, he was charged with third-degree domestic violence.

In addition to Mukesh’s arrest, Minaxi Gandhi was arrested after failing a field sobriety test at the scene of the accident. She was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
