In a major breakthrough, Nawada police arrested Mukesh Kumar, popularly known as Mukesh Don, a notorious criminal with a Rs50,000 bounty on his head. The arrest took place on Sunday, ending a long chase for a man with a violent criminal record.
According to Nawada Superintendent of Police Abhinav Dhiman, Mukesh is the son of Prabhu Yadav from Jalalpur village under the Nemdarganj police station area. He faces nine criminal cases, including molestation, attempt to murder, assault, abuse, and illegal liquor trade.
Most notably, Mukesh is accused of murdering a person on November 21, 2024. He has been a wanted fugitive, evading arrest despite mounting pressure from law enforcement.
“Mukesh was a menace to public safety and repeatedly involved in serious crimes,” SP Dhiman said. “His arrest is a big relief for the district.”
Police are now investigating his network and the possible involvement of accomplices in his criminal operations.
