In a shocking incident, the Nizamabad police have arrested a mother-son duo for allegedly abducting and killing an infant. The arrested individuals have been identified as Bosle Mala Bai (52) and her son Gopal Brucelee (33), both natives of Maharashtra.
According to police officials, the accused, who made a living by seeking alms in Nizamabad town, harbored suspicions that their relative, Kamala Bai, was earning more money by using her children, including an infant, to seek alms. The mother-son duo and Kamala Bai were reportedly involved in previous enmity, which may have contributed to the tragic incident.
On March 27, Kamala Bai, along with her three children, arrived in Nizamabad. That night, while sleeping at the bus stand with her children, Kamala Bai woke up to find her infant son missing. She immediately alerted the authorities, prompting the registration of a kidnap case and the formation of a special team to track down the missing child.
Based on CCTV footage and other investigative clues, the police identified the accused and arrested them on Monday. Both were sent to judicial remand following their arrest, confirmed P. Sai Chaitanya, Nizamabad Police Commissioner.
During questioning, the accused allegedly claimed that Kamala Bai had killed her husband, Gangadhar, approximately ten days prior to the infant’s abduction in their native place, Nanded district. The exact reasons behind Gangadhar’s death are still unclear, and the police are continuing their investigation.
The tragic incident has shocked the local community, and the investigation is ongoing.
