In Maharashtra’s Palghar, a tragic incident unfolded when a seven-year-old boy died and his 10-year-old sister was injured after their mother allegedly beat them with a rolling pin. The violence erupted after the boy, Chinmay Dhumde, requested to eat chicken, a non-vegetarian dish. His mother, Pallavi Dhumde, reportedly became enraged and thrashed him to death. She also assaulted the sister, who is now receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
Neighbours heard the children’s cries and immediately alerted the police. Local law enforcement, including the crime branch and sub-divisional officers, quickly responded to the scene. The police have registered a murder case and arrested Pallavi Dhumde, 40, who lived with her family in the Kashipada area.
District Superintendent of Police Yatish Deshmukh confirmed the details, stating that the boy was brutally beaten with household items, leading to his death. The investigation is ongoing.
