Mortatha Ahmed Charged for Bomb Threat at Virginia DMV

24-year-old arrested at Petersburg DMV, held without bond

A 24-year-old man is facing criminal charges after allegedly making a bomb threat at a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office in Petersburg, Virginia.

According to the Petersburg Bureau of Police, officers responded to the DMV on the 100 block of Wagner Road at around 1:07 p.m. on Tuesday, following reports that a man was threatening to bomb the facility.

The suspect, identified as Mortatha Ahmed, was still on-site when police arrived. He was taken into custody without incident.

Ahmed has been charged with disorderly conduct and making a bomb threat. Authorities confirmed he is being held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond.

No injuries or evacuations were reported in connection with the incident.
