Morigaon police have apprehended three men linked to a major motorcycle theft and dismantling operation in the district. The arrests were announced at a press briefing held at the Sadar Police Station.
The investigation started after Manik Ali, from Silongoni, Nagaon, was caught stealing a motorcycle in central Morigaon. Acting on intelligence from Ali, police raided the residence of Roijuddin in Udmari village under Juria Police Station’s jurisdiction.
The raid yielded several stolen items, including a TVS motorcycle (AS 02 AN 9646), a red Splendor bike without a registration plate, petrol tanks from Glamour motorcycles, seven motorcycle suspensions, and various dismantled parts.
Roijuddin was taken into custody for allegedly purchasing stolen motorcycles at low prices, dismantling them, and selling the parts illegally.
In a related operation, Dulal Uddin from Dhing was arrested while fleeing with a stolen Glamour motorcycle (AS 12 Z 0323) from Moirabari.
The police continue to investigate the theft syndicate to apprehend further suspects.
