Moni Borkar Arrested in Khuntadih for Illegal Cough Syrup Trade

Police Seize 136 Bottles of Cough Syrup and 23 Liters of Liquor

In a targeted operation led by CT SP Kumar Shivashish, police arrested Moni Borkar in Khuntadih and seized a large quantity of illegal substances. The operation uncovered 136 bottles of contraband cough syrup, valued at ₹50,000, marking a significant blow to local drug networks.

Borkar, who had recently entered the illegal cough syrup trade, was previously involved in the sale of illicit liquor. Authorities also recovered 23 liters of country liquor during the raid.

The police action was based on confidential intelligence, and a senior police official stated that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to target and dismantle local drug and alcohol networks. Authorities expect further arrests as the investigation continues.

“The operation is part of our ongoing efforts to combat substance abuse and curb the spread of illegal narcotics,” the senior official remarked.

The police remain committed to curbing the supply of illegal substances in the area and are closely monitoring related activities.
