A 21-year-old resident of Samastipur, Mohd Miraj Idrisi, was arrested from Begusarai district for allegedly issuing a death threat against Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on social media.

Idrisi posted the threat under the username ‘Tiger Meraj Idrisi’, stating on July 11, “On July 20, I will kill Chirag Paswan by bombing.” Following this, LJP(RV) spokesperson Rajesh Bhatt and Samastipur district president Anupam Kumar (alias Hira Singh) filed complaints with the Patna cyber police.

During the investigation, cyber police scrutinized various social media platforms and identified Idrisi through technical analysis. A comment from another user suggested the suspect might be mentally ill, which helped direct the investigation. Acting on instructions from the Samastipur superintendent of police, the cyber DSP led a team to arrest Idrisi in Teghra, Begusarai.

Authorities recovered the mobile phone and SIM card used to post the threat. Idrisi was first taken to Samastipur Sadar Hospital for a medical examination before being handed over to the Patna cyber police for further investigation.
