In a major crackdown on narcotics, the Commissioner’s Task Force Central Zone, in coordination with Saifabad police, arrested three drug peddlers near the IMAX open ground in Hyderabad.

The accused—Mohd Gulam Jilani (42) from Jharkhand, Feroz Bin Ali alias Sahil (20), and Suleman Khan (22), both from Attapur—were caught late at night while attempting to procure and supply drugs.

Authorities seized 1,350 grams of ganja, 100 grams of Brown Sugar, seven mobile phones, and a Honda motorcycle, with the total haul valued at Rs 23.5 lakh.

During interrogation, Jilani admitted sourcing the narcotics from contacts in Odisha, travelling to Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jaleshwar, and Balasore in October to procure 115 grams of Brown Sugar and 1,350 grams of ganja for Rs 3.5 lakh. Feroz and Suleman reportedly bought small sachets from Jilani at Rs 5,000 per gram and sold them to consumers for Rs 8,000–10,000 per gram.

Investigations revealed that a sale of 3 grams to Mohd Ahmed on November 4 led to his fatal overdose in Shivrampally.

The accused and seized contraband have been handed over to Saifabad Police Station under Deputy Commissioner of Police Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath. Officials highlighted the bust as part of the ongoing efforts to curb drug networks in Hyderabad.
