In a routine patrol that turned into a successful crime interception, the K.G. Chavadi police arrested two individuals in possession of stolen mobile phones near the Walayar Dam area in the early hours of Sunday.
The accused have been identified as S. Mohankumar (25) from Kambalapatti near Pollachi and M. Sathiswaran (25) from Kolumam, near Madathukulam in Tiruppur district.
Acting on suspicion during their patrol, officers stopped the duo and upon searching, found multiple stolen mobile phones in their possession. The two men were taken into custody and are being questioned for further leads on the source and possible network involved in the mobile thefts.
Police officials are continuing the investigation and have indicated that more arrests could follow based on information gathered from the suspects.
