Erode police have apprehended Mohankumar (50) and his wife Valliyammal (42) for allegedly burglarizing a house in Moolapalayam. The couple reportedly stole Rs40 lakh in cash and gold valuables from the residence of businessman Anand (50).
The incident occurred between August 29 and 30, while the household was away. Anand discovered the theft on September 2 and lodged a complaint with the Erode Taluk Police on September 6.
Authorities launched an investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of Mohankumar and Valliyammal. The stolen cash and valuables have reportedly been recovered. Police continue to probe the case and assess if the accused were involved in similar crimes in the region.
