In a targeted anti-narcotics operation, Konaje police arrested a 19-year-old youth and recovered MDMA worth Rs1.06 lakh.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Zakir, a resident of Kasaba Bengre, was apprehended on Sunday following a tip-off regarding the sale of narcotic drugs to students and other consumers.
Police raided a location near Fiza Maidan opposite K.S. Hegde Hospital in Belma village and seized the contraband. The accused has been taken into custody and is currently under investigation. Authorities are probing further to identify potential buyers and other individuals involved in the illegal drug network.
The police urged the public to report any information regarding the sale or distribution of narcotics to prevent further misuse.
