Goa Cyber Crime Police arrested 28-year-old Mohammed Sabir Razak Mulla from Thane, Maharashtra, in connection with a Rs 50 lakh cyber fraud case. The accused impersonated the Managing Director of a private firm in South Goa via WhatsApp and convinced the company to transfer the amount as an advance for a fake project.

The fraudulent transaction took place between January 14 and 17, after which the Goa Police traced Mulla to Bhayandar and arrested him.

Initial investigations revealed that the bank account used in the scam was linked to other cyber fraud cases across West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, suggesting the operation is part of a larger racket.

Authorities are continuing the probe to uncover more details and identify other involved individuals.
