Two brothers in Peterborough have been jailed for exploiting a vulnerable drug user and using threats to run a Class A drug dealing operation.
Shoaib Mohammed, 25, and Haroon Mohammed, 23, coerced a vulnerable drug user into storing large amounts of drugs in their home, Peterborough Crown Court heard.
Between November and March, Haroon Mohammed threatened to “firebomb” the victim’s home over a drug debt. Shoaib Mohammed attempted to interfere with the investigation by calling a witness from prison to withdraw their statement.
At Peterborough Crown Court on 21 October, Shoaib, of no fixed address, was sentenced to six years in prison after admitting involvement in the supply of cocaine and perverting the course of justice. Haroon, of Sallowbush Road, received a sentence of three years and eight months for being involved in the supply of cocaine and threatening to destroy property.
Both brothers were also issued ten-year restraining orders preventing contact with the witness involved.
Detective Constable Edward McAuley said: “Shoaib and Haroon exploited vulnerable drug users to facilitate their drug dealing operation, using threats and intimidation to maintain control. These sentences show our commitment to dismantling networks that endanger our communities.”
