In a major crackdown on vehicle thefts, Tolichowki Police have apprehended 22-year-old Mohammed Bashumiya, recovering stolen bikes worth approximately Rs5 lakh. The arrests followed complaints regarding two separate two-wheeler thefts earlier this month.

A welding worker reported his Honda Shine (TS15EV9042) missing outside a shop near Community Hall, Hakeempet, while a labourer’s Honda Shine (TS13ER8714) disappeared near Fatima Mosque in Brindavan Colony during prayers.

During a routine vehicle checking drive in Paramount Colony, police spotted a suspicious individual trying to flee. The suspect was chased, apprehended, and identified as Mohammed Bashumiya, a resident of Vinayak Nagar, Film Nagar. He reportedly confessed to stealing vehicles using a master key for easy money.

Police recovered five Honda Shine motorcycles linked to the accused, including the bikes from the registered cases. Authorities are conducting further investigations to identify owners of additional recovered vehicles and determine if Bashumiya was involved in other thefts.

Officials emphasized that the operation demonstrates a proactive policing approach to curb property crimes in the area.
