A 24-year-old man, Mohammad Salman, was arrested by the Delhi Police for his involvement in a burglary that took place on August 19 in the Shahdara area. Salman, along with an associate, posed as saree sellers to carry out the crime. The burglary was reported after jewellery and valuable items were stolen from a house in the area.
The police investigation began by analyzing CCTV footage from the scene, which showed two men arriving on a scooter. While one of the suspects pretended to sell sarees outside the house, the other broke the lock and stole the jewellery and other valuables.
After a thorough probe, the scooter was traced back to Ravish, a resident of Pasonda, Ghaziabad. Further investigation pointed to Suhail, Ravish’s elder brother, a known criminal from Meerut, as the second accomplice involved in the crime.
On August 22-23, police arrested Mohammad Salman from Sunder Nagri, Delhi, and recovered the scooter used in the theft. Raids were conducted at Suhail’s hideouts in Sunder Nagri, Pasonda, and Dasna, but he remains absconding.
Salman admitted to the crime, stating that he had been selling sarees on the streets of Delhi and had met Suhail through Ravish a few months ago. Police are now working to apprehend Suhail and recover the stolen jewellery.
