The Pantnagar Police have arrested a man for the brutal murder of a 41-year-old woman whose body was found with her throat slit near her residence in Kamraj Nagar, Ghatkopar East, Mumbai.
The incident took place on December 24, when the woman left her home for a walk and failed to return. Her body was discovered the next day in a bush near Kamraj Nagar. Based on a complaint filed by her husband, police registered a murder case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against an unknown person.
A thorough investigation was launched with 15 police teams working under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 7. The probe involved analysing CCTV footage, mobile phone records, financial transactions, and questioning multiple witnesses.
Following the detailed investigation, police identified the accused as Mohammad Irfan alias Chand Fakre Alam Ansari (42), a resident of Rising City, Ghatkopar East. He was arrested on Monday.
Investigators revealed that Ansari allegedly killed the woman in a fit of rage following a financial dispute related to a loan taken from his wife. Further investigation is ongoing.
