The Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell has arrested Mohammad Furkan of Jagadhri and recovered three stolen motorcycles in a major breakthrough.
According to Cell In-charge Rajesh Kumar, the action was taken under the direction of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, as part of an ongoing effort to curb vehicle thefts in the district.
The police received a tip-off that a man was planning to travel through Badhi Majra village to Uttar Pradesh with a stolen motorcycle. Acting swiftly, the team set up a checkpoint near the Badhi Majra bridge to inspect vehicles.
“During vehicle checks, our team stopped a man on a motorcycle, which was found to be stolen,” Kumar stated.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to stealing the motorcycle from an area under the Yamunanagar (City) police station on July 10. Further investigation led to the recovery of two more stolen motorcycles from his possession.
The accused was presented before the Jagadhri court on Sunday and has been sent to judicial custody.
