In a significant drug bust in South Kashmir, two individuals, Mohammad Amin Bhat and Aabid Ahmad Bhat, were arrested in separate operations across Pulwama and Shopian districts.
Mohammad Amin Bhat, from Wanpora, was apprehended by police at Parigam, with 3.5 kgs of cannabis powder-like substance recovered from his possession. Meanwhile, Aabid Ahmad Bhat of Ganiepora Wachi was arrested in Shopian, where authorities seized 4.3 kgs of grinded cannabis and 672 grams of cannabis powder.
Both arrests led to the registration of cases under relevant sections of the law. Investigations are actively ongoing.
In a separate operation in Sopore, police arrested Farooq Ahmad Ganie, alias Farooq Jandgur, with 11 bottles of illicit liquor recovered from his possession. Authorities are continuing their crackdown on illegal activities in the region.
