Mumbai Police have arrested Mohammad Ali Abdul Gaffar Sheikh, a 60-year-old man who was peddling MD drugs while posing as a banana vendor near Bandra railway station.

According to Crime Branch Unit 9, Mohammad Ali was caught with 153 grams of MD (mephedrone) worth Rs35.30 lakh during a late-night operation near the Bandra Bus Depot on Maharashtranagar Road.

Police officials revealed that although Sheikh appeared to be an ordinary fruit vendor, he had been secretly selling drugs under the guise of his banana stall. The arrest came after police received a tip-off about his activities, prompting officers in civil attire to track and intercept him.

Mohammad Ali was taken into custody, and a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered. Investigations are ongoing to identify his suppliers and buyers.
