Mohali Police Bust Carjacking Gang, Arrest Two Members

CIA solves carjacking case, arrests gang members involved in thefts

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the Mohali Police has successfully dismantled a gang involved in carjacking, theft, and snatching, arresting two of its members. The police claim to have solved a recent case of carjacking at gunpoint that took place in Phase 2, Mohali.

Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek confirmed that the gang had been responsible for multiple criminal activities, including vehicle thefts and armed robberies.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Bhuriya, 18, from Rasoolpur village in the Fatehgarh Sahib district, and Pritpal Singh alias Kala, 25, from Badwala village, also in Fatehgarh Sahib district.

CIA DSP Talvinder Singh Gill stated that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to snatching a Swift Dzire taxi at gunpoint in the jurisdiction of Phase-1 Police Station, which led to the filing of an FIR under sections 309(4) and 3(5) of the BNS, as well as the Arms Act (25-54-59).
