Law enforcement agencies in Mohali and Panchkula have intensified anti-narcotics operations, leading to multiple arrests and the seizure of over 200 grams of heroin.
In Mohali, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) apprehended Satinder Singh Santu of RK Enclave, Kharar, recovering 117 grams of heroin. Santu admitted to working as a heroin courier, transporting drugs primarily during late-night hours using a motorcycle. He revealed involvement of a minor from Ferozepur in transporting narcotics by bus to evade detection. Santu was remanded to police custody for two days.
Meanwhile, Panchkula police arrested Akashdeep from Kharar with 80 grams of heroin in a separate bust. This followed earlier arrests of peddlers Naresh Sharma, Gaurav Sharma, and Sukhdeep Singh, the latter caught with 10.23 grams of heroin. Akashdeep was produced in court and remanded for one day. The case is registered at Chandimandir police station.
In another Mohali operation, officers caught Harjinder Singh (Kabulsah village) and Sandeep Singh (Pir Ismail Khan village), seizing 12 grams of heroin. The duo admitted to smuggling heroin from the Ferozepur border and revealed the identity of a third accomplice operating in Zirakpur. The suspects were remanded for two days.
Police continue to conduct raids to dismantle this narcotics network and apprehend all involved.
