Matthew Paez, a 33-year-old youth soccer coach from Modesto, California, was arrested on July 21, 2025, on felony charges of possessing and distributing child pornography. The arrest followed an investigation initiated by a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Detectives allege that Paez uploaded illicit material to an internet-based platform. He was taken into custody at his residence, where electronic devices were seized and are currently being analyzed for further evidence.
Paez serves as a coach for a Modesto-based youth travel soccer team. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that any players or other children were directly affected by his alleged actions.
