Mitchel Buckle, a man previously wanted by multiple police departments, was arrested on August 19 by the Winnipeg Police Service.
The arrest stems from an incident earlier this month when the Estevan RCMP attempted to stop a speeding truck in the town of Lampman, Saskatchewan. According to the RCMP, the truck failed to stop, disobeyed traffic signs, and fled the scene at high speed.
Following an investigation, Buckle—who is from the Rural Municipality of Rockwood, Manitoba—was charged with flight from a peace officer and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, both under Canada’s Criminal Code.
In addition to the warrant issued by the Estevan RCMP, Buckle was also wanted on outstanding warrants from the Estevan Police Service and the Winnipeg Police Service.
As of now, a court date for Buckle has not been confirmed. Authorities say updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
