On Sunday, August 24, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28-year-old Miranda Paige Gonzales in connection with several burglary cases in Crenshaw County, Alabama. Gonzales was taken into custody near the 7,000 block of Luverne Highway after a citizen tipped off authorities about her location. She was then transported to the Crenshaw County Jail.
Gonzales was initially wanted on charges of third-degree burglary and for questioning related to multiple thefts. She now faces two counts of third-degree burglary and third-degree theft of property.
Crenshaw County Chief Deputy Chris Stewart praised the collaboration between the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the local community in locating Gonzales. “A citizen did the right thing by reporting her whereabouts, allowing us to take her into custody,” Stewart said.
Authorities believe Gonzales may have information linked to a string of recent burglaries affecting residences and businesses in Crenshaw County and surrounding areas. The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate and seeks her cooperation in these ongoing cases.
