SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Miranda Jeanette Fuller, 47, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly using another person’s identity to obtain an auto insurance policy and submit a fraudulent claim.
Fuller faces charges of financial identity fraud and presenting a false insurance claim for an amount between $2,000 and $10,000. The investigation was conducted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division at the request of the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
Authorities allege that on July 12, 2025, Fuller obtained an automobile insurance policy through fraudulent means using another individual’s personal information, including name, date of birth, and digital signature.
On July 21, 2025, she allegedly filed a claim with Progressive Insurance, falsely representing herself as the policyholder and submitting photos of vehicle damage. Investigators determined the photos had metadata showing the damage occurred prior to the reported date, and the same images had been previously submitted in a denied claim from Fuller’s email account.
Fuller was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center. The South Carolina Department of Insurance is prosecuting the case.
