BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A narcotics investigation led to a major SWAT raid in Boynton Beach, where deputies arrested a 21-year-old man accused of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and counterfeit pills.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) identified the suspect as Miquan Owens, who was taken into custody following a sting operation and subsequent residential search.
On April 4, PBSO narcotics agents arranged an undercover purchase of 10 blue pressed pills—sold as oxycodone—for $200 in the parking lot of Total Wine on North Congress Avenue. The pills later tested positive for fentanyl, a synthetic opioid significantly more potent than heroin.
Investigators then secured a search warrant for Owens’ apartment in the 600 block of Sealofts Drive. On April 9, PBSO SWAT executed the warrant, securing the residence after Owens and two others exited peacefully.
Inside the apartment, deputies recovered a significant amount of narcotics:
197 grams of cocaine
330 grams of fentanyl
Numerous counterfeit pills
Authorities also seized a safe containing nearly $21,000, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
Owens now faces serious charges, including:
Three counts of selling Schedule II narcotics
Trafficking cocaine
Trafficking fentanyl
Two counts of using a phone to facilitate a felony
He is currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.
