Millu Veeranna, the alleged mastermind behind the killing of former Nandinne sarpanch Boya Chinna Bhimarayudu, was arrested along with nine others by Jogulamba Gadwal Police. The murder, which occurred on November 21, was staged to look like a road accident.
Bhimarayudu, 45, died when his motorcycle was hit near Jampalli bus stand on Raichur Road. Investigators, citing tyre skid marks and CCTV footage, confirmed that the collision was intentional, with the SUV waiting to strike the victim.
Police recovered Rs 8.5 lakh in cash, four cars, two bikes, 11 mobile phones, and 13 SIM cards from the accused. The gang had been hired by Veeranna over a political rivalry, a land dispute, and tensions surrounding a local rice milling business. The contract for the murder, initially Rs 15 lakh, was later raised to Rs 25 lakh, with Rs 8 lakh already paid.
Among those arrested were Veeranna’s son Surender Veeranna, 25, and other associates from Nandinne and Kurnool. SP Raganath Rao confirmed that all accused will be presented in court, and authorities will seek the maximum punishment.
