MIAMI – A 26-year-old man, Mike Kevin Jacques, has been arrested for stalking and sexually assaulting a woman in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood. Jacques, who was already on probation in Broward County, was taken into custody by Miami police officers at his apartment on Tuesday. He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center early Wednesday morning.
Jacques faces several charges, including stalking, burglary, and sexual battery, and an out-of-county warrant has been issued. He has a lengthy criminal history in both Broward and Miami-Dade counties. His past arrests include charges for carrying a concealed weapon in 2017, robbery in 2018, criminal mischief and domestic violence in 2020, and indecent exposure in 2022.
The most recent charges stem from incidents in 2023. In January, Miramar police arrested Jacques on three counts of exposure of sexual organs, and a separate case was filed in Miami after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on October 30, 2023. The victim, who was taking out her garbage, reported that Jacques approached her from behind, grabbed her by the hair, and dragged her away.
In addition to the assault, Jacques is accused of stalking and intruding into a woman’s home. On January 24, 2024, Sofia Galiano was alerted to a break-in at her home. She confronted the intruder, later identified as Jacques, who claimed he was looking for something. On February 9, Galiano received a second alert and saw Jacques looking through her kitchen and bedroom windows. Surveillance footage helped police track Jacques down, and detectives discovered the hoodie and ski mask he was wearing in the video.
Jacques now faces charges of stalking and burglary of an occupied dwelling. Despite his past arrests, Jacques is not a convicted felon or a registered sex offender in Florida.
