MIDLAND, Texas — Jennifer Murphy, 35, was arrested on Monday following a methamphetamine bust at a residence near Rusk Elementary School. The Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a property on the 3800 block of Fannin Ave. due to suspected meth distribution.
According to the arrest affidavit, investigators discovered multiple bags of suspected meth in Murphy’s bedroom, including a small baggie and black baggie of meth hidden inside a jewelry box. Additionally, MCSO found a black safe containing five more bags of suspected meth, along with two unlabeled pill bottles, miscellaneous pills, scales, and new zip lock baggies.
A box containing suspected marijuana and another box with more meth was also located. The drugs found on the property, located just 500 feet from Rusk Elementary School, weighed approximately 52 grams.
Murphy faces charges related to the possession and distribution of methamphetamine, with authorities believing she intentionally possessed and planned to distribute the drugs. She remains in jail with a $100,000 bond.
