MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. — A third person has been arrested in connection with the disturbing case of an 11-year-old girl giving birth at home in Muskogee.
Authorities confirmed on Friday that 53-year-old Michelle Justus was arrested and charged with child neglect. Court records indicate that Justus saw the 11-year-old on the day she gave birth but failed to report the situation to authorities.
The case began on August 16, when officers from the Muskogee Police Department responded to a call from a local hospital reporting that an 11-year-old had given birth at home more than an hour prior.
The girl’s stepfather, Dustin Walker, and biological mother, Cherie Walker, were both arrested soon after and charged with child neglect. Each was booked on a $100,000 bond.
DNA testing conducted by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) confirmed that Dustin Walker is the biological father of the newborn child.
As a result:
Dustin Walker now faces additional charges of child sexual abuse.
Cherie Walker is charged with enabling child sexual abuse.
Both are also facing additional child neglect charges related to the 11-year-old and five other young children in the household.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities continue working to ensure the safety and protection of all children involved.
