TULSA, Okla. — Two suspects were arrested on June 19, 2025, after allegedly stealing beer from a convenience store and leading Tulsa police on a chase that ended in a crash.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, an officer inside a QuikTrip at 51st and Mingo was approached by a store manager who reported that two individuals had just stolen four cases of beer. The officer confronted the suspects—identified as Michelle Blackbear and Jeremy Townsidy—in the parking lot.
Initially, the pair claimed they had purchased the beer but failed to provide a receipt. They eventually admitted to the theft. Blackbear reportedly told the officer she would accept a ticket for the theft but refused to return the beer.
While she initially exited the vehicle, Blackbear quickly jumped back into her convertible and fled the scene, prompting a pursuit. The chase ended near 8100 E. 48th Street after Blackbear hit a curb, blowing out both front tires.
Officers arrested both suspects at the scene.
Michelle Blackbear was booked on several charges, including:
Eluding
Larceny of Merchandise from a Retailer
Obstruction
Various drug and traffic violations
Jeremy Townsidy was arrested for larceny.
Authorities emphasize that these are arrests and not convictions. The investigation remains ongoing.
