Michael Williams Arrested in Cheyenne on Animal Cruelty Warrant

Domestic violence call leads to arrest of wanted suspect

Cheyenne, WY – A routine domestic violence call over the weekend led to the arrest of Michael Anthony Williams, a 36-year-old transient wanted for felony cruelty to animals in Laramie County.

According to Cheyenne Police, officers responded to a reported domestic incident in the 2500 block of East 9th Street around 5:01 p.m. on Saturday, March 8. Upon identifying Williams, police discovered he had an outstanding felony warrant for animal cruelty resulting in death, a crime punishable by up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Williams was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center. He appeared in Circuit Court on Monday, March 10, where his bond was set at $3,000 cash or surety. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, at 2 p.m.

Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
