BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) — Vermont State Police have arrested Michael Williams, 60, of Morrisville, in connection with the death of Tina Daigle, 38, whose body was discovered in Woodbury earlier this summer.
Daigle’s body was found on June 19 near a pull-off on Vermont Route 14. Authorities said an autopsy determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation.
Following an investigation, Williams was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. He now faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree domestic assault.
Williams has been ordered held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
Police have not yet released further details about the nature of the relationship between Williams and Daigle or what led to the fatal incident.
