Scottsville man accused of soliciting minor for sex acts

by Amelia Crawford

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. — A 40-year-old Scottsville man has been arrested and charged with promoting human trafficking following a disturbing complaint involving a minor.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation on April 30 after receiving a report that Michael Weaver had sent explicit and inappropriate messages to a female under the age of 18. Authorities allege that the content of the messages revealed his intent to solicit the girl for forced sexual activity.

Weaver was arrested on the evening of May 2 and is currently being held in the Allen County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

As of now, a court date has not yet been set. The investigation remains ongoing.
