Vicksburg, MS – A domestic violence incident in Vicksburg led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man and his juvenile brother on Monday, December 30th. The suspects, identified as Michael Ware and his juvenile sibling, were taken into custody after an alleged violent altercation involving a firearm.

According to Vicksburg Police Chief Penny L. Jones, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 29th. Michael Ware was arrested and charged with domestic violence and discharging a firearm within city limits. The discharge of the firearm is considered a separate offense in the state of Mississippi, with special restrictions on firearms within city limits.

Ware is currently being held and will appear in Municipal Court later this week to answer the charges. His juvenile brother, whose identity remains protected under Mississippi state law, was also arrested on similar charges. Due to the juvenile’s age, his records are sealed, and his information is not publicly disclosed.

At the time of publication, there were no federal charges related to the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and local authorities are continuing to gather information.

The Vicksburg Police Department has called for the public’s help in reporting any further information related to the case. They assured that both suspects would face prosecution for their actions, and further details would be provided as the investigation progresses.
