by Amelia Crawford

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Michael Tedder, an 18-year-old from North Carolina, was arrested for making a threat of mass violence against the University of Louisville.

Authorities charged Tedder with communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property. His arrest followed a joint investigation between University of Louisville police and the Davie County Sheriff’s Office after a tip received on September 12, 2025.

Court documents reveal that Tedder called the university and threatened to use assault weapons if the institution did not remove posters he claimed were “mocking Charlie Kirk.”

Law enforcement officials traced the threat to a residence in Advance, North Carolina. Deputies arrested Tedder at the home, and he is currently held at the Davie County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
