Billerica police have arrested a 33-year-old local man in connection with a series of thefts involving snowplow equipment, a work truck, and other stolen property, authorities announced.
The suspect, Michael Sansevero of Billerica, is facing 17 criminal charges, including theft, breaking and entering, and multiple firearm- and drug-related offenses, according to a police press release.
The investigation began on December 29 after officers were notified of a break-in at a car dealership on Dunham Road. Police said several new snowplow blades and mounting equipment were stolen overnight.
Following a review of surveillance footage and other evidence, investigators identified Sansevero and a 31-year-old Billerica man as suspects. Search warrants were later obtained for Sansevero’s home on Ox Road and for a vehicle associated with the second suspect. The warrants were executed on January 1 and 2.
During the searches, police recovered the stolen snowplow blades and mounts, along with five illegal firearms, two large-capacity magazines, ammunition, fentanyl, and other illegal drugs. Officers said Sansevero was found hiding under a bed inside his residence and was taken into custody.
The investigation also led police to recover a stolen work truck and trailer from a separate location in Billerica. Authorities estimate the total value of the recovered property exceeds $35,000.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and the 31-year-old suspect may face charges at a later date. It was not immediately clear whether he has been located.
Sansevero is scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Monday.
