Yuba City police have arrested two additional suspects in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery at a local jewelry store that occurred on Jan. 18, resulting in the theft of an estimated $1 million in gold.

The suspects, 24-year-old Michael Sanders and 21-year-old Kylen Byrd, were identified by the Yuba City Police Department’s Investigations Unit with assistance from multiple Bay Area law enforcement agencies, including the Oakland Police Department.

Sanders and Byrd are currently being held at Santa Rita Jail in Alameda County awaiting transfer to Sutter County. Authorities said the two may be connected to a larger group involved in the robbery on the 400 block of Palora Avenue, where three masked individuals stole approximately $1 million in gold jewelry.

Earlier in the investigation, Yuba City police identified Maurice Lee Jackson, 32, of Oakland, as one of the suspects, who was booked into Sutter County Jail on robbery and assault charges. A second suspect, a juvenile, was booked into the Tri-County Youth Development Center.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about additional charges or potential arrests.
