A South Portland man has been arrested after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other drugs, as well as firearms.
Police stopped 47-year-old Michael Myrick’s vehicle near the intersection of Gorham Road and Clarks Pond Parkway around 1 a.m. on Sunday. Officers reportedly saw a gun and suspected drugs inside the car, prompting a search. During the search, they found 159.2 grams of fentanyl, 7.2 grams of crack cocaine, 12.8 grams of methamphetamine, and a handgun.
Following the discovery, police conducted a search of Myrick’s home on Marcelle Avenue in South Portland, where they found additional drugs and a shotgun.
Myrick was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, illegal possession of a firearm, unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs, and unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs.
He is currently being held at Cumberland County Jail on $20,000 cash bail.
