BELLEFONTAINE — A Colorado man was arrested Saturday evening after Bellefontaine police say he was driving while intoxicated on North Main Street.
Officers observed 34-year-old Michael Marotti, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, driving a black Honda CR-V while appearing distracted and looking at his phone.
After conducting a traffic stop, officers noted several signs of impairment. Marotti admitted to having one drink earlier at a bar and agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which he had difficulty completing.
He was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVI). A subsequent breath test revealed a BAC of 0.291, more than three times the legal limit.
Marotti was cited for OVI and released to a sober driver.
