PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Michael Leon Thomas on Thursday night following an investigation into an alleged grand theft and identity-related fraud scheme, according to official booking records.
Thomas was taken into custody on December 26, 2025, by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities allege he is connected to the theft of property valued between $750 and $5,000.
In addition to the grand theft allegation, investigators report that Thomas faces charges related to uttering a false bank bill, note, check, or draft, as well as fraudulent impersonation involving the use or possession of another person’s identification without consent.
Law enforcement officials did not release further details regarding the alleged transactions, including information about potential victims, locations, or whether the case is linked to a larger fraud investigation.
Under Florida law, grand theft and identity-related offenses can result in felony charges depending on factors such as the value of the property involved, the number of victims, and any prior criminal history. Prosecutors are expected to review the evidence to determine whether formal charges will be pursued.
No injuries were reported in connection with the alleged offenses. Court proceedings will ultimately determine how the case moves forward.
As with all criminal matters, Thomas is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
