Michael K. Damon Arrested in Lewiston for Possessing Stolen Property
LEWISTON, ID – A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged with multiple felony counts of grand theft following a police investigation into a recent string of thefts.
Michael K. Damon was taken into custody on September 17, 2025, and is now facing three felony counts of Grand Theft by Receiving or Possessing Stolen Property, according to Nez Perce County Court records.
Investigation Begins With Garage Theft
The case began Tuesday when Lewiston Police responded to a burglary on Park Street. The homeowner reported that she had accidentally left her garage door open, and her $3,000 high-end mountain bike had been stolen overnight.
The following morning, officers were dispatched to a bus stop at Lincoln Street and G Street after receiving a report of a man carrying a stolen backpack. Upon arrival, police made contact with Michael Damon, who matched the suspect description.
Multiple Stolen Items Recovered
Authorities say Damon was in possession of:
The stolen mountain bike
A black backpack containing items belonging to another victim, including financial transaction cards
An iPhone reported stolen in a separate case, which displayed a lost property notification on its lock screen
Damon was read his Miranda Rights and detained on scene. He was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen financial instruments.
He is expected to appear in court on Thursday afternoon for his initial hearing.
