Michael Jablonski Arrested in Port St. Lucie Amid Kidnapping, Assault Investigation
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A West Palm Beach man is behind bars after a woman accused him of kidnapping and sexually assaulting her, according to Port St. Lucie police.
Michael Jablonski, 60, was arrested Sunday morning outside a Publix supermarket after a 35-year-old woman alerted store employees that she had been taken against her will. The woman told police she had been kidnapped from Davie by a family friend and sexually assaulted during the ordeal.
Officers arrived on scene and found Jablonski in a white van parked outside the store. When approached, he reportedly refused commands, jumped into the driver’s seat, and grabbed an officer’s arm during the struggle. Police used a Taser before successfully taking him into custody.
The van was towed as evidence. Jablonski is currently facing charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, and is being held at St. Lucie County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
The Davie Police Department is leading the kidnapping investigation, while Port St. Lucie police continue to investigate the alleged sexual assault, which reportedly occurred in a business parking lot near the Gatlin Boulevard I-95 exit.
Authorities say more charges may be filed as both investigations continue.
