CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Months after a brazen armed robbery at the Chester County DMV office, state investigators have arrested 43-year-old Michael Deandre Hollingsworth in connection with the crime.
The robbery occurred on March 5 at the DMV building on Belt Road. Deputies responded swiftly, launching a manhunt using drones and bloodhounds. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) later took over the investigation.
Following extensive inquiries, SLED identified and arrested Hollingsworth. He now faces charges of armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is currently held at the Chester County Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.
Authorities are also searching for Rashonda Hollingsworth, Michael’s cousin, who is wanted for conspiracy to commit armed robbery for her alleged involvement in the incident.
