LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. — A traffic stop on Highway 258 North Sunday led to the arrest of 46-year-old Michael Hicks, a convicted felon, on multiple gun and drug charges.
Deputies pulled over the vehicle after noticing a handwritten license plate and equipment violations. Hicks, the driver, was found to have a suspended license and outstanding warrants.
During the search of the vehicle, deputies discovered a revolver, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
Hicks was arrested and charged with five new gun and drug offenses. Additionally, he was served with warrants for five more outstanding charges.
He is currently being held without bond for the new charges and has a $50,000 bond for the outstanding warrants.
