Michael Hicks Arrested for New Braunfels Bank Robbery

Suspect caught with stolen cash and demand note

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — Michael Hicks, 58, from Schertz, was arrested in connection with a bank robbery that took place Wednesday around noon on State Highway 46 West.

According to City of New Braunfels spokesman David Ferguson, Hicks entered the Chase Bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash before police arrived.

Officers identified Hicks as the suspect and arrested him the following day near Interstate 35 North in Schertz. During the arrest, authorities recovered the stolen money and the note given to the teller.

Hicks was booked into the Comal County Jail on a robbery charge. No bond has been posted yet, and the investigation remains ongoing.
