Michael Hetzel Arrested for Deer Feeder Theft in Jasper Co.

Suspect taken into custody at work, faces theft charges

JASPER COUNTY, Texas – The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 50-year-old Vidor man, Michael Hetzel, in connection with the theft of multiple deer feeders.

According to Sheriff Chuck Havard, Hetzel was taken into custody at his workplace on Tuesday. He now faces charges of Theft and Criminal Trespassing.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday at a deer lease on County Road 826, also known as Gist Road. Investigators were able to identify Hetzel as the suspect during their inquiry.

Authorities have not released the total value of the stolen equipment, but Sheriff Havard confirmed the case is active and additional charges may be pending.
