NEW BERN, N.C. – A traffic stop in Craven County led to the arrest of Michael Ryan Dietz, 50, and Stephanie Michelle Enke, 47, after deputies discovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm in their vehicle.
The stop took place Wednesday on Glenburnie Road, where Craven County deputies, assisted by K-9 Viper, conducted a search. Lt. Justin Caudel of the Craven County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that approximately 34 grams of methamphetamine were seized along with a concealed firearm.
As a result:
Dietz faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.
Enke was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.
Both suspects were taken into custody at the Craven County Detention Center and are being held without bond due to previous outstanding charges.
Their first court appearance was scheduled for Thursday at the Craven County Courthouse.
