COLUMBUS, Ohio — Michael David McKee, 37, of Chicago, Illinois, was arrested Saturday in connection with the fatal shooting of Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe inside their Columbus home. McKee faces two counts of murder.
The couple, Spencer, 37, a local dentist at Athens Dental Depot, and Monique, 39, were found dead on December 30 from apparent gunshot wounds. Columbus police say the couple’s two young children were inside the home at the time and were unharmed.
Authorities were called to the Tepe residence just after 10 a.m. on December 30 for a welfare check after friends and co-workers reported Spencer had not shown up for work.
Police arrested McKee in Rockford, Illinois, without incident. The suspect is currently being held at Winnebago County Jail.
Spencer and Monique had been married for about two years before divorcing in 2017. The couple did not have any children together.
